keeping girls in sport LONGER

A new study suggests that girls who begin participating in sports from the ages of 6 to 9 have higher retention rates than those who begin participating later in life.

These findings emphasize the importance of targeted retention strategies and supportive sport environments for adolescent girls and women.

Start young. But keep the main emphasis on FUN and FITNESS, not performance.

Kohei plans on the AA March 12th

… he intends one last hurrah – an exhibition in March during which he will take on all six apparatus.

“I’ll whip this hurting body through to perform on all of them,” he said with a smile.

“It’ll be tougher than qualifying for Tokyo, and that depresses me a bit, but I want to go out this way.”

Others will be joining him including members of the Japanese 2016 Rio and the 2009 Tokyo teams.
