WAG Coach needed in Nova Scotia

TAISO (Halifax) has 1000+ gymnasts operating out of its 12,000 square foot facility. TAISO currently has four High Performance WAG athletes including two National Team members.

WAG Assistant Head Coach – Full-time, 35 hours/week

For details email Shawn Healey — shawn (a) bellaliant.com

Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.

Steve Penny resigned

As expected.

Paul Parilla, USA Gymnastics Board of Directors chairman:

“The Board believes this change in leadership will help USA Gymnastics face its current challenges and implement solutions to move the organization forward in promoting a safe environment for its athletes at all levels. …”

NOW the USAG must take action. They’ve been far too slow. Mostly talk.

Steve Penny is no more than 1% to blame. His resignation — so far — changes nothing.

support Temple Men’s University Gymnastics

Former Captain Jesse Kitzen-Abelson is back from coaching in South Africa, currently assisting long time Head Coach Fred Turoff.

They ask that supporters of Men’s Gymnastics help the program survive and thrive by following and sharing social media.

Temple is recruiting too. They no longer have Division I athletic scholarships but there are other kinds of support available.

Ana Porgras interview

With Emma Bailey. Translation by Bea Gheorghisor.

Gymnasts more universally loved than Ana Porgras are rare. She defined the 2009-2012 quad, instantly becoming a fan-favorite. She won a bronze medal on bars at the 2009 Worlds, her first major senior competition …

Ana had an almost perfect 2010 Worlds (in Rotterdam) and she won the gold medal in the beam final. …

In mid-January 2012, seven months before the Olympics, Ana announced her retirement from gymnastics. The exact reasons were not explained at the time …

Ana Porgras: “Yes, if I could change anything I would.”
