Simone at Georgia

Simone made a celebrity appearance at Georgia’s win over Boise State.

Woodward West Action Sports Camp

I coached at Woodward West several times over the years. Loved it.

And was disappointed when they dropped Artistic Gymnastics as one of their activities.

That fantastic facility close to Los Angeles is still busy, busy.

For example, there’s a Freestyle Trampoline Camp July 6-11, 2025 (week 4).

Not inexpensive at $1599 for the week. But you could get a $150 discount through the FTA.

If you don’t know Woodward West, definitely check their video.

MrBulletPig – the Vlog

For many years the best Men’s Gymnastics skill montage has been the one put together annually by Gabe, MrBulletPig.

And now for 2025, he’s adding a YouTube Vlog.

In this 1st episode he explains his background as gymnast, coach, and judge.

Gives a shout out to some of his favourite MAG social media sites online.

And talks about what he plans to include in his new Vlog.

GymCastic on Bluesky

@GymCoaching on Twitter is no longer posting nor commenting. Owner / dictator Musk has gotten increasingly dangerous. We are boycotting X.

If YOU are trying to quit Twitter, as well, follow GymCastic on Bluesky, instead.

So far, Bluesky seems the best gymternet alternative.

Here’s their wrap-up of week 2 WAG NCAA.

Men’s NCAA Coaches interviewed on 2025

Wow. The College coaches have widely diverging opinions on the changes put into place for 2025.

Inside Gymnastics – Christy Sandmaier:

The 2025 men’s NCAA season will see not only a new Code of Points in play but also changes to the format of men’s college meets. The head-to-head dual meet format, first introduced in 2021, is now optional, rather than required, but the more major shifts are going from 5-up, 5-count on each event, to 4-up, 4-count, with a new maximum of 12 competing athletes per team, down from 15 in past seasons. …

Inside asked all 15 NCAA men’s gymnastics head coaches for their opinion on these significant shifts in competitive format, and how they feel the new rules will help, or hurt, the sport, and received a wide range of thoughtful, interesting answers…

NCAA Coaches Address Changes in College Men’s Gymnastics

Yuan Xiao, University of Michigan, wonders if MAG NCAA might yet be forced to 3-up, 3-count in the future.

Ignacio Yockers – Pommels

With routines dropping from 10 to 8 skills, I’m guessing many of the top guys will drop the Magyar – Sivado sequence as it takes too many circles. And risks a skew deduction.
