Lands like a dart.
Male FIG gymnasts must show control on landing.āI’d say right now there is TOO MUCH emphasis on STICK in MAG FIG.
Obviously, FIG women have never been required to show control.āAbsolutely no control often results in a very small deduction for WAG.
I’m of mixed feelings on this question:
On the one hand, it would force coaches to include dismounts that are more fully mastered.āA good thing.āAND it would help separate the best of the best routines.
On the other hand, I fear more injuries on landing might result.āStepping or hopping out of a high impact landing is an excellent way to dissipate forces.āGymnasts trying to “SAVE” a competition landing could suffer more injuries.

An excellent improvement on College rules.āThis will definitely help separate the best of the best routines.
Hopefully we’ll see NO MORE College Sticks getting a 10.0 score.
LANDING is a skill.āAnd should be evaluated as a SKILL.ā

It’s much tougher to STICK than they make it look.

Thanks Jeff.
I wouldn’t call Artur the best vaulter in the world.
But he’s definitely the most consistent at landings of the best in the world.
Great air sense. And TIME enough to land.
