Alexandra Andrianova
Junior Russian gymnast Aleksandra Andrianova won All-around GOLD at Jr Europeans 2026 competing for WG 2.
Andrianova is the granddaughter of legendary Russian gymnasts Lyubov Burda Andrianova and the late Nikolai Andrianov, and the daughter of Sergei Andrianov, a coach of the Russian national team.
Burda Andrianova was a member of the gold medal-winning Soviet team at the Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games, the 1970 World Championships and the Munich 1972 Olympic Games. She placed fifth all-around at both the 1970 Worlds and Munich 1972 Games, and tied for bronze on vault at the 1970 Worlds.
Andrianov competed at three Olympic Games from 1972-80, amassing seven gold (all-around in 1976), five silver and three bronze medals. He won a combined 13 world championships medals, including all-around gold in 1978, at the three worlds held from 1974-79. …

An exciting and impressive TEAM Final. Qualification for top 12 teams to the L.A. Olympics is going to be very competitive.

World Gymnastics 2 dominated. Best routines. VERY consistent.
Putin’s dictatorship does not seem to have suffered from being locked out of many international competitions for years.

Twitter kicked me off (for a while) for too many posts in one day. So I’ll post some random observations here.
- after a peaceful few days, this competition is loud and hectic. A 4 ring circus. First Floor music is AC/DC Highway to Hell. 😀
- arena not full — but it’s an enthusiastic, knowledgeable crowd
- European Championships 2027 will be in Albania
- Vaelen (Belgium) tumbles very, very well out of round-off
- Love Petisco’s choreography. It suits her so well.
- Becky Downie did not compete Bars. Not sure why as she marched out.
- 3-up, 3-count is definitely more exciting for the spectators. Every. Score. Counts.
- I’m surprised there are so few Double Layout dismounts from Bars. It should be less deductible than Double Tuck with 1/1 twist.
- Big fan of Iorio (Italy) on Bars. It’s so refreshing to see some variety of skills on that apparatus. 14.333.
- Manila is so unique. Superb movement like a professional dancer. OB on Double Layout — but otherwise excellent Floor. We need study this gymnast. She does a lot of things RIGHT.
- Yowser. Kalmykova’s tumbling is insane for such a small gymnast.

The headline ➙ Three finals, THREE titles for Polina Dmitrieva. How soon will she be on the Senior team?
Vault
🥇 Aniela Tudor, Romania, 13.383
🥈 Daria Mironova, WG 2, 13.166
🥉 Lilou Marliac, France, 13.133
Aniela Tudor used Kasamatsu and Kas + 1/2. Juniors can use 2 Vaults from the same family. Romanian fans excited. Her father was interviewed on the big screen.
Overall I was quite impressed with the Juniors. They are very short & light to get much power off the Spring Board.
Bars
The future looks bright for Putin’s dictatorship.

Andrianova was the better executed routine. But Dmitrieva had 0.3 higher difficulty. Both excellent. Amazingly good form.
Bars was a stronger Final than Vault. Many of these gymnasts are already close to competitive Senior routines.
I’m disappointed that some gymnasts begin their routine with a weak Kip on low bar. No extension on the glide. In some cases, jumping in with feet staggered. Kip is a skill and should be executed as well as possible.
Beam
A very impressive Final. Some falls. But the quality of work was excellent.

Louane Plisson was near perfect. THAT means she was awarded 8.1 E-score. (Beam judging is insane.)
Dmitrieva was fantastic too. 8.133 E-score.
Floor
Dmitrieva clearly had the best routine overall. And she looks to have potential to develop the kind of power needed for senior tumbling difficulty.

I enjoyed Clarissa Rinaldi’s choreography best. Dramatic.
Lucia Piliarova had the prettiest routine. Beautiful form on twisting. Lovely line and foot point. Tight Double Tuck with hands on shins. Best technique.
Martina Bozzola was fantastic too — but put her hands down on Double Pike dismount. That routine could have medalled.

No falls. A good final. But nothing particularly Andrade brilliant.

Sanna Veerman, Netherlands, was 4th. I couldn’t decide between her (6.3 difficulty) and Giulia (6.1). It was close.
Three of the finalists had falls. What a shame.
The winners will be competitive at Worlds 2026, for sure. Great routines.
Beam
Easily the best Final. Only one fall ➙ and that on a terrific Round-off Layout 1/1.

I’m not convinced judges can justify exactly these scores.
Subjective artistry deductions, for example, seem to be more personal preference than anything measurable.
That said, I’m happy Manila took the Gold. Her routine to me was the most balanced: tumbling, dance, leaps, jumps, turns. The whole package.

Golden Double for Aleksandra Andrianova in Zagreb

Aleksandra Andrianova (53.565) delivered a stunning performance in Zagreb today to claim the All-Around gold medal, finishing ahead of her teammate Polina Dmitrieva (53.165). Italy’s Clarissa Rinaldi secured the bronze medal with a strong all-around performance across all four apparatus, earning her a place in each of Sunday’s apparatus finals.
