Jules Léotard popularized the leotard

Jules Léotard; 1 August 1838 – 16 August 1870) was a French acrobatic performer and aerialist who developed the art of trapeze.

He also created and popularized the one-piece gym wear that now bears his name and inspired the 1867 song “The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze“, sung by George Leybourne.

Diver Matthew Mitcham fights for equality

Matthew Mitcham is the 2008 Olympic champion in the 10m platform, and he is the 2nd highest single-dive score in Olympic history (at the time it was the highest scoring dive ever). This made him the first openly gay athlete to win an Olympic gold medal.
