STILL trying to understand Olympic qualification

MAGnastics tried a hypothetical scenario using results of Men’s Worlds 2018 to decide most of the Olympians:

  • Team Qualification (12)
  • Individual AA Qualification
  • Individual Apparatus Qualification

Using 2018 rankings Olympians include: Adam Steele, Ireland, Tin Srbic, Croatia, Ri Se Gwang, North Korea, Eleftherios Petrounias, Greece, Lee Chih Kai, Taipei, Artem Dolgopyat, Israel, etc.

Yulo is the biggest happy surprise of Worlds 2018. Congratulations Philippines. 🙂

Petrounias was doubtful to compete Worlds. He has shoulder surgery scheduled in 3 days.

Zanetti was fantastic. You might argue he was even better than Petrounias. There’s not much to separate the very best Ring men.

The kids at Altadore Gym Club 50 years ago all had Gymnastics heroes. We learned about them from IG magazine and American TV broadcasts.
