Maggie Nichols wins the Honda

Maggie is absolutely one of the greatest College gymnasts all time.

Oklahoma junior and 2019 NCAA team, vault and all-around champion Maggie Nichols was named the Honda Sport Award winner for Gymnastics, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) announced Tuesday. …

“It is such an honor and truly a blessing to receive this award,” Nichols said. “Being one of the three athletes in OU history to ever receive this award is truly incredible. I also want to congratulate Brenna Dowell, Sarah Finnegan and Kyla Ross on being nominated this year as they are all incredible athletes.

Nichols was chosen by a vote of administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. …

ROYAL FAMILY | Hit The Floor Gatineau

Lately I’ve been intrigued by the mass choreography of mega crews.

Parris Goebel (born 29 October 1991), also known professionally as Parri$, is a New Zealand-born choreographer, dancer, singer, director and actress. Her dance crew The Royal Family has won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship three times.

Parris choreographed “Sorry” for Justin Bieber.

GUEST POSTS on Gymnastics Coaching

By site editor Rick McCharles

Pretty much every day I decline requests for sponsored posts. Those are mostly advertisements that look like a regular post.

But we do post guest articles.

So, if you’d like to summit something to this site, here are our guidelines for submissions:

What Content Do We Want?

  • Information of interest to Artistic Gymnastics coaches.
  • Things that are NEW. DIFFERENT. ORIGINAL.
  • Insider information not available elsewhere.
  • What’s happening in parts of the world not well covered by the gymternet now: Africa, China, S.E. Asia, etc.
  • Technology / Apps being used by coaches & judges
  • Suggestions on improving ethics, safety and general wellbeing of participants in acrobatic sport.

The more succinct, the better. But include visuals: graphics, photos, videos.

Send an email to RickMcCharles (a) gmail.

Include the following:

Your coaching history. Any links you’d like included.

There’s no payment or remuneration of any kind. This site now runs ad free.

“It’s definitely not something that I’m going to let define me,” she said.

“I don’t want people to remember me as the girl that got injured, because that’s not what I’ve done here. I’ve done so much more, and I feel like I’ve done so much more, at Auburn. …
