summing up Canadian Gymnastics Nationals 2025
I’m happy my home town — Calgary — did such a good job hosting Championships in all Gymnastics disciplines this year.
John Crumlish for International Gymnast Online posted a great recap:
First-year senior Lia-Monica Fontaine captured the women’s all-around title and Felix Dolci repeated as men’s all-around winner at the Canadian Championships held May 26-30 in Calgary.
Fontaine, the 2023 and 2024 Canadian junior all-around champion, tallied a two-day total of 106.547 points to finish ahead of silver medalist Gabrielle Black (104.682) and bronze medalist Amy Jorgensen (100.780). Black and Jorgensen were sixth and 13th, respectively, at last year’s Canadian Championships. …
Eight-time Canadian all-around champion and four-time Olympian Ellie Black competed on two apparatuses, with two-day totals of 27.983 on vault and 27.466 on uneven bars. Three-time Olympian Shallon Olsen competed on two apparatuses, with two-day totals of 27.366 on vault and 23.799 on floor exercise.
Dolci retained his 2024 title with a two-day total of 160.513, ahead of silver medalist William Emard (159.396) and bronze medalist Ioannis Chronopoulos (157.798). …
