pay-per-view Gymnastics coverage?

Like many, I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription to FLOGymnastics.

But I MIGHT be tempted by pay-per-view.

Spain announced using a pay-per-view platform for their National competitions.

You could watch a meet LIVE or on replay within 72 hours.

Tickets were going for 6-8 Euros.

UPDATE – AFTER FAN PROTEST, THE FEDERATION DECIDED TO CONTINUE STREAMING FREE.

NOTE – Gymnastics Canada did not renew their contract with FLOGymnastics and will be posting a request for proposal (RFP) to find a broadcast partner.

Iowa gymnast Alex Greenwald

Recall Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida?

The deadliest high school shooting in United States history.

Iowa gymnast Alex Greenwald was there.

She writes “Just keep swimming” on her hand every competition to honour a childhood friend who was one of the 17 killed.

International Gymnastics Camp 2021

Looks like a GO.

What I like best about IGC is their coach education program.

We have three COVID-19 safety plans in place and will utilize the most appropriate plan depending on the state of the virus at that time.

We’re remaining flexible to accommodate all guidelines set forth by the CDC, local, and state government for this summer.

All three plans will require PCR testing prior to arrival at camp, limiting exposures during the two weeks prior to camp, monitoring temperatures and antigen testing upon arrival with follow-up testing during the course of the campers stay …

watch EVERY gymnast at Regionals

… for the first time in ESPN history, the four NCAA regional competitions will be available live on ESPN3 with coverage of every gymnast and apparatus.

Looks like this does NOT include those odd but kinda cool play-in dual meets.

Florida / Oklahoma lead NCAA

1T. Florida
1T. Oklahoma

  1. Michigan
  2. LSU
  3. Cal
  4. Utah
  5. Minnesota
  6. Alabama
    9T. Arkansas
    9T. Denver

Read Spencer’s weekly rankings update:

Cal’s 197.600 from Sunday, the #3 score in program history, clinched a major coup as the team will enter Pac-12 Championships as the top-ranked school in the conference. It’s the first time since the conference became the Pac-12 that neither UCLA nor Utah will enter the championship as the top team.

Road to Nationals posted a chart showing who’s mathematically locked for a 2021 Regionals appearance.

There are plenty of important competitions yet to come.

follow Utah’s Misty-Jade Carlson

I’d say Utah has had the best NCAA social media this season.

That’s Misty-Jade Carlson @mxcarlson, their Director of New Media.

Cecile Landi interview

Interesting and entertaining.

At both WOGA and World Champions Center, Cecile and her husband Laurent personally coached dozens of gymnasts at the same time. Elites down to JO 3 at WOGA.

It was a 4 to 1 coaching ratio when they started in France.
