The vision of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association is to provide leadership and governance for the sport of women’s acrobatics and tumbling at the collegiate level based on fair and safe competition while continuing to expand opportunities for female collegiate athletes. Acrobatics and Tumbling is an all-female collegiate sport.

new NAMED Gymnastics elements

It is a way of achieving immortality in Gymnastics: the gymnast who has an original element named after them in the Code of Points assures that his or her name will live on in the sport, years after they have taken their final bows on the international stage.

At year-end, the FIG Technical Committees approved eleven new elements – six in Men’s and five in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics …

Canadian National Coach charged

Gymnastics Canada (GCG) was shocked and deeply troubled by the news released today that Dave Brubaker, our women’s national team director, has been charged with multiple offences.  …

Mr. Brubaker is now on administrative leave from Gymnastics Canada pending the outcome of this investigation. …

Police have imposed a court ban on the release of any further details about the alleged offences. He’s released on bail with a February court date.

MSU finally apologizes to victims

MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon and the board of trustees apologized to survivors of sexual abuse for the abuse suffered and the pain it has caused during their meeting Friday morning.

The board also announced it will establish a $10 million fund to go toward counseling and mental health services on campus.

But to some survivors of sexual abuse by ex-MSU and USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, apologies fell flat. …

Note that the University still hosts a legacy page for coach Kathie Klages who worked with Nassar for decades … without detecting any improper conduct. She defended him to the end.

Maria Paseka surgery

Maria Paseka announced … on her Instagram that she decided to undergo a back surgery and will take a break from training for 7-9 months. …

She does not intend to retire now and wrote that she will start training for Tokyo as soon as she fully recovers.
