Spotting blocks are even better than a channel pit for introducing new skills on Bars and Horizontal Bar. There are hundreds of different configurations.

Some felt Dom Cunningham who finished 4th could have deserved Bronze. Kenzo was not deducted for stepping over the line on his stuck landing vault 2. There’s no deduction for landing ON the line.

Zou’s P Bars was the single best routine of the competition. I had him at 9.8 E-score.

Some, including myself, would have been happier if the Bronze had gone to Sam Mikulak 15.233.

Jon Horton and others point out that the E score panel did not do their job. Though Epke deserved to win, there’s no way his E-score should be close to Kohei or Sam.

Sam on the H Bar miss

I called Sam for the AA win. He looks super ready.

Heading into the 6th and final apparatus β€” his best β€” Sam was only about half a point behind. His usual hit routine could MIGHT make up that difference.

XIAO Ruoteng had missed Liukin in team two nights ago. DALALOYAN was no sure hit either.

But Sam was the one who missed. It happens. Kohei only hits 95%.

I’d love to see him win H Bar in apparatus finals. It’s going to be EPKEIC.

He’s the favourite over Sam, Kohei, Epke and the rest if he hits this sequence in the apparatus final. Game on.
