Daiki Hashimoto – H Bar

Daiki Hashimoto (橋本 大輝, Hashimoto Daiki, born 7 August 2001), is the defending Olympic champion. And Olympic H Bar champ.

The routine to beat at Worlds, I reckon.

I believe this is an Insta360 X3 camera, by the way. Even if the camera is fixed, you can watch the action from many different angles.

Worlds Liverpool QUIZ

In the trivia battle Olly Hogben vs Blythe Lawrence, Olly called in some “ringers” to help him: Stephen Nedoroscik. Alana Slater. Kyle Shewfelt. Cathy Johnson Clarke. Shannon Miller.

I did badly. As usual. 😀

Stephen Nedoroscik – Podium Pommels

The defending World Champion had planned to do just first half on this approach.

BUT as it went well, he decided to finish the excellent routine.

He’s still getting used to the Gymnova Pommel Horse. Different than the AAI he trains on at home.

watch Jake Jarman

One of the big stories at Worlds Liverpool is Jake Jarman, from Huntingdon Gym Club.

Now age-20, he’s the 2022 Commonwealth Games AA Champion — and is still improving.

With a British dad and a Filipino mom, he’s very popular in the Philippines as well as the U.K.

Looks like Jake will compete triple twisting double layout on Floor. It’s so fast and clean I had to watch slowmo to confirm it’s 3 twists. 😀

On Vault he made the most difficult twisting skill look … EASY.

I spoke with Jake after training. He was once injured on Kas + 2 twists landing in competition. At that point he and his coach decided to move to Kas + 2.5 twists as the landing is so much safer.

GymCastic in Liverpool

As always, GymCastic will provide some of the most entertaining coverage of Worlds.

For Liverpool they have a dedicated page linking all their content.

Worlds Podium Training has begun

Men first.

William Emard is here for Canada, back from injury.

Liverpool – “River of Light”

First night in Liverpool I went to check out the impressive annual sound and light festival

River of Light illuminates the waterfront across 17 nights from Friday 21 October to Sunday 6 November.

For 2022 the ten installations pay tribute to the concurrent World Gymnastics Championships.
