Tang Chia-Hung in Paris

Definitely a gold medal contender on H Bar.

Recovered from the injury that cost him most of his 2023 season

The gymnast known as the “King of Cats” blew past the competition to win the Horizontal Bar title at last weekend’s World Challenge Cup in Osijek (CRO), scoring 15.350 for a new routine that included five different release skills: three Tkatchev elements, a Cassina, and an unusual Walstrom (Yamawaki with full turn).

His 15.350 (which carries a 6.5 difficulty tariff) was higher than the 15.233 Hashimoto Daiki (JPN) received when winning the World title on the apparatus last autumn …

Hashimoto Daiki leads 2024 All-Japan

Hashimoto has already secured his Olympic spot on the Japanese team by winning the all-around competition at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. However, for the rest of the field, this competition is a critical step towards making the Olympic team.

The depth of the Japanese team is shown by how many athletes are capable of score over the coveted 80 mark; today, 45 Japanese gymnasts scored over 80. Compared to the most recent U.S. national championships where 14 athletes scored over 80 or the most recent British national championship where only three athletes managed that feat, it’s easy to see why the Japanese are so strong in international competition.

Benson Boone – acrobat

Benson Boone is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Washington State.

In High School he competed on the diving team. His Dad taught him how to tumble.

He first got noticed on TikTok.

I link to him here as Benson includes cliff diving and flips in his music videos. He’s quite a good acrobat.
