NY Times – Simone Biles article
JULIET MACUR:
… “I’m not thinking about being in the Olympics,” the gymnast, Simone Biles, said. “Well, at least I’m trying not to think about it.”
Biles is the best American gymnast since, well, probably ever. She is 4 feet 9 inches, with size 5 feet, but there’s an unfathomable amount of power packed into her petite package. …

Cassie Whitcomb’s recovery
Former U.S. National Team member (2006-10) Cassie Whitcomb is a UCLA team manager. Her last season competing for the Bruins was 2012.
Over the years she had several spinal injuries. Finally Cassie had surgery to try to repair those.
She currently has a Go Fund Me page to help cover $5000 of Surgery/Medical/Expenses.
Help if you can.
Thanks Michael.
Guard Young at BYU
A great update on the new coach at Brigham Young University.
“I’m having the time of my life being back here as a coach for BYU,” Young said.
In his first year as head coach, Young’s focus is getting the most he can out of the varsity team.

Young shares his passion and experience with the team. Young had the team sit in a circle before their first meet, sharing stories of their favorite gymnastics moments to remind them of their own passion for the sport.
“He really believes in us,” gymnast Emily Vidmar said. “He’s always telling us we can do it and he tells us that every day.” …
