WHY the Ugly Cowboy Double Tuck?

Men’s Floor is less fugly than in past years — but is now ruined by all the poorly executed Double Tucks.

Similar problem with Double Front dismounts on P Bars. And Double Front Vaults.

By far the majority of falls at European Championships 2026 were on Double Fronts.

Great Britain are European Champions

GBR battled it out with WG2 gaining a big lead on Rings.

The fantastic gymnasts from Putin’s dictatorship fought back, ending up with a slight lead after their last H Bar routine.

It came down to Harry Hepworth on Floor. He delivered with a huge difficulty set.

That was an excellent, exciting TEAM FINAL.

Kudos to 1st year senior Sol Scott who competed like a veteran. GBR wouldn’t have won without him. Will Sol be on their Worlds 2026 team?

The WG2 guys are young and fantastic. But weak on Rings. They brought specialist Ilia Zaika this time. No doubt they’ll consider bringing another Ring man to Worlds as their other apparatus are super strong.

Coaches should study Switzerland. Year after year they bring smart, safe, consistent routines.

Men’s European Gymnastics Championships JUNIOR AA Final RESULTS

The top 24 gymnasts (maximum 2 / nation) advanced to this All-around Final.

It was a quick meet as we had only 4 gymnasts / apparatus.

Quickly it became apparent that 3 gymnasts would dominate. Two from World Gymnastics 2 and one from Ukraine.

All 3 will be very good seniors.

ANOTHER podium decided by .001.

Overall, there were a lot of unexpected falls. These young guys, perhaps, need train for longer events with multiple days of competition.

European Men’s JR Apparatus Finals RESULTS

Italy is looking strong for the coming years. Especially if Manrique Larduet is granted citizenship. They could be challenging GBR and USA.

Overall, I was disappointed in this final. Too many falls. Execution of Double Fronts mostly poor.

Pommel

An excellent final. None of these juniors are going to be competitive with the top seniors, however, any time soon.

It’s normal for Juniors to not yet be able to show high level strength sequences. Men can keep gaining strength at least until age-30.

I couldn’t see any reason why Martinez’ coach stayed on the podium during the routine.

Havrylchenko was miles ahead on difficulty. He can compete Senior Vault any time.

I was impressed by Robert Ward of Ireland (4th).

Super strong Final. The top guys would be very competitive in Senior.

Bad luck for several. Too many falls. Of course they all HIT to get into this Final.

European Gymnastics Apparatus Finals Zagreb – day 1 were excellent.

An amazing Final with only 1 missed routine. Mascot Luigi couldn’t believe it.

5 of the finalists are age-20 and younger. This is the most competitive apparatus in Men’s Gymnastics right now. I’m looking forward to World Championships.

I like the speed of swing of Hamlet.

AVERAGE AGE not nearly so low on this apparatus. Men can gain strength until at least age-30.
