I’m happy with this podium. And happy for the home crowd and organizers.

Ponor will not regret continuing her career through to 2017. She was Olympic Beam Champion in 2004. That was so many years ago I’ve lost count. 🙂
Eythora’s routine was dreamy. Cata super aggressive. Both awesome. Cata the higher start score.
Fans are “fanatics”. If you want fans for your sport, be prepared to put up with some fanatics. Cluj has done a terrific job promoting this event.
Tabea Alt, too ill to compete the AA, had a disastrous routine. 😦 Perhaps she should have withdrawn from this Final, as well.

Good podium. Dalaloyan competed a near perfect Yurchenko triple twist STUCK and an excellent Handspring double front pike.
You could easily switch #2 and #3, however. They were close.
I love Dragulescu’s showboating on the podium. But is it deductible?
The apparatus has claimed fewer victims than in most competition. But Medvedev’s crash reminded us just how dangerous it can be.
In case you missed yesterday, here’s a summary post.

Excellent. I’m already planning to be there.

… Moldauer (87.60) and Bower (87.30) were involved in yet another fantastic all-around competition. Their battle with Modi was vintage collegiate gymnastics.
Bower was leading going into the final rotation, with all three gymnasts able to win it. Modi emerged the winner by the slimmest of margins. Only 0.6 points separated the three. The contest ended exactly the way it should have… In the final rotation! It was the last time the three would ever compete together in the collegiate ranks, and it was perfect! …

Though Men’s NCAA uses FIG scoring with some bonus points, you’d never know it by the scores. Judges are far more lenient in the NCAA than at FIG meets.
