19 named to Canadian Men’s National Team
Read the full list.
One thing I’ve really liked about Tony Smith as National Team Director is his willingness to recognize and promote more athletes than in the past.
He’s also very positive about Canadian athletes training in the NCAA.
World’s team trials are coming up soon in Montreal.

odds of making the U.S. Men’s Team
Midknight Robin:
The 2018 U.S. Gymnastics Championships lineup is stacked and will be the most competitive men’s field in the last decade. Oklahoma’s Yul Moldauer will be defending his crown while two-time Olympian Sam Mikulak will be looking to take over again as the best all-around gymnast in America. Not too far behind is Marvin Kimble …
Yul Moldauer (Oklahoma) 6/1
Sam Mikulak (Olympic Training Center) 6/1
Colin Van Wicklen (Cypress) 7/1
Alec Yoder (Ohio State) 8/1
Marvin Kimble (Salto Gym) 8/1See the full list on GymnasticsVille.

USAG empowering?
Good point here from the last U.S. Olympic men’s head coach.
I did see something, somewhere from USAG on the ESPYS Courage Award. But it was not energetically enthusiastic.
No doubt their lawyers have suggested that kind of post might be used in court.

wearing shorts over the leotard in competition
One Gym Mom wonders WHY our sport has not evolved to the point where more gymnasts aren’t wearing Lycra shorts in competition.
It reminds me of the 1990s when I petitioned to allow the University of Saskatchewan women’s team to wear shorts and leo. That request was instantly approved. … The young ladies, however, decided to — last minute — compete in leotards after all.
I LOVE Gymnastics, but…
