Rosie MacLennan repeats as Olympic Champion
Wow. I’m so thrilled for Rosie. ๐
In the notoriously unpredictable sport of trampoline–just one bad bounce can send a world-class athlete into last place–it’s much easier to fly into the top ranks of the sport than to stay there. Rosannagh, or Rosie, MacLennan of Canada proved it wasn’t impossible, however, when she became the first trampoline athlete to win two golds at an Olympics. …
Finishing third was Li Dan of China, the 2015 world champion. In fourth place was He, the gold medalist in Beijing and bronze medalist in London.
Chinese athletes have a streak of winning medals in women’s gymnastics going back to 2004.

Brittany Rogers:
โObviously the results of these Games werenโt what we all wanted,โ Rogers said about Canadaโs near miss on the team finals. โIt definitely lit a fire in me to continue on with elite gymnastics.โ
In the near future, Rogers will return to Athens at the end of August and finish up her degree. โฆ
Looking further away, Rogers has a plan for wrapping her gymnastics career.
โIโm not sure what competitions I will be assigned to from the Canadian team as those will be discussed after the Games are over,โ Rogers said. โI plan to continue training and help out with the team in Georgia any way I can and be ready for whatever competitions I get assigned to by Gymnastics Canada. My goal is to be able to compete in the World Championships in Montreal in 2017 and perhaps retire on home soil.โ
