Great move from the FIG MTC. In the next Olympic cycle multiple salto roll-out skills are banned for Men as they have been for Women.
Gymnastics is dangerous enough without encouraging athletes to risk their lives. Many gymnasts have suffered serious concussions on these skills.
Elena Mukhina was paralyzed training the Thomas salto just two weeks before the opening of the 1980 Summer Olympics leaving her permanently quadriplegic. Elena died Dec 22, 2006.
I like flyspring after a timer rather than a salto. Katelyn demonstrates why. 🙂
Flyspring is more often easier to decelerate.
