USAG & FloSports

… announced today they have entered a multi-year digital streaming partnership

Beginning with the 2021 season and running through 2025, USAG and FloSports will broadcast more than 35 events to audiences in North America and around the world.

This year kicks off with podium training and other elements that have historically not been broadcast at the highly anticipated 2021 Winter Cup, set for February 26-28, …

A list of major USAG events to be streamed on FloGymnastics can be found on the following link: FloGymnastics & USA Gymnastics Event Schedule …

FLOGymnastics

I hope this works. But predict the contract will be broken before the 5 year term.

Many Gymnastics fans, including myself, don’t like the FLOGymnastics business model and recall too vividly past mistakes.

They’ve plagiarized content while at the same time shutting down YouTube channels.

I suspect coverage of Gymnastics sports other than WAG will be shoddy, yet cost the same.

The ONE THING FloSports could do to change my mind would be to offer pay-per-view pricing.

I’ll wait to hear reviews of their Winter Cup coverage.

Michigan NCAA 2 week pause

… the University of Michigan Athletic Department will immediately pause athletic activities in all sports, including games, team and individual training sessions, until further notice and up to 14 days. …

The mandate follows positive test results for the SAR-CoV-2 B.1.1.7 variant virus infections from several individuals linked to the U-M Athletic Department through its diligent testing regiment.

The B.1.1.7 variant is thought to be approximately 50 percent more transmissible than the standard form of the virus …

Gabriele Frehse & Gerrit Beltman – dismissal recommended

This relates to the final report of a Frankfurt law firm, which, on behalf of the DTB, investigated the serious allegations that the former world champion Pauline Schäfer, 24, first raised against Frehse in SPIEGEL

She and a dozen other athletes reported that they had been mentally abused by the trainer at the federal base in Chemnitz, some of them for years.

In addition, Frehse gave them strong painkillers or drove them into the eating disorder . …

Frehse vehemently denies the allegations.

SPIEGEL

In addition, the DTB “emphatically” demands that the employment relationship with the Dutch trainer Gerrit Beltman in Chemnitz be terminated. He has been working in Chemnitz since last year – although there are also serious allegations of mistreatment against him .

In both cases, however, the DTB can only make recommendations. Frehse’s employer is the Olympic base in Saxony. Beltman is employed by TuS Chemnitz-Altendorf.

Nya Reed – Equality

Florida Gators junior Nya Reed came into her team’s gymnastics competition against the University of Georgia on Jan. 15 with a clear message. She and four other athletes knelt for the national anthem, and she personally chose to stamp “#equality” on the back of her leg.

Athletes, according to the University of Florida, will take part in this demonstration throughout the season. …

I really like the stamp. Unlike kneeling, it can’t be deliberately misinterpreted by haters.

inconsistent College judging

If NCAA judges actually applied J.O. 10 deductions, it would be bearable.

But — the current system results in injustice every meet.
