The former Canadian Men’s National Coach Edouard Iarov was very negative about College Gymnastics. He preferred gymnasts stay home training with their clubs.
The new National Team Director Tony Smith is much more encouraging of the guys taking advantage of College training in the States. They are welcomed back to attend national team training camps & qualifiers.
In fact, Canada has a team headed to compete at Stanford this weekend — the International Collegiate Challenge (Stanford, Minnesota, Japan, Canada).
I’m hoping scores for Justin Karstadt & Joel Gagnon will count for both teams. 🙂

On Sunday, August 24, 2014 after the P&G Championships in Pittsburgh, Olympic hopeful Steven Legendre and his wife Alaina went to the hotel bar. It was there that Alaina alleges U.S. Olympic Training Center men’s coach, Vitaly Marinitch sexually assaulted her.
Since the incident isn’t mentioned as a catalyst for Vitaly’s stated voluntary resignation, the Legendres have decided to publicly share their story …

Korbut and Schanfeldt say the selling of her memorabilia is not a desperate money grab, though they acknowledge the money certainly will be nice. They see it as more of a chance to make a deeper connection with her fans, allowing them to be part of a history they helped create.
“This is Olympic history, and I would like to share with the whole world,” Korbut said. “They helped to make it history and make it live forever. This is how I wanted to share with the people.” …
