Simone goes 59.500

The #CoreClassic is not an Olympic trial.

But it’s certainly an important tune-up. And a Nationals qualifier for some.

You have to think Simone and Shi are locks for Paris, barring injury.

Jordan will be happy with this ranking.

Many of the contenders had problems they plan to correct. It’s still very competitive to make the U.S. Olympic team.

59.500: Simone Biles
57.650: Shilese Jones
55.450: Jordan Chiles
54.400: Jade Carey
54.350: Skye Blakely
53.900: Tiana Sumanasekera
53.450: Leanne Wong
53.000: Dulcy Caylor
52.950: Marissa Neal
52.700: Kaliya Lincoln
52.700: Evey Lowe

Trinity Thomas looked good β€”Β but decided not to do the AA. Suni never planned to do all 4 apparatus here.

All eyes were on Gabby Douglas. However she fell twice on Bars, the 1st apparatus and decided to withdraw.

Konnor McClain was looking great in training. But withdrew after a possible Achilles injury in the Floor warm-up.

Shilese Jones – 15.250 Bars

Awesome.

Japan’s 2024 Olympic team

Like most coaches, I believe Japan names the team too early.

Gymnasts competing well in May will not necessarily be 100% end of July.

Claire Pease – Jr #CoreClassic champion

Claire trains at WOGA.

Gabby’s 2024 Bars

Looks GREAT.

Double layout improved, I’m thinking.

Podium training.

Gold Over America Tour tickets

Abdulla Azimov to Paris Olympics

Finishing highest of the non-qualified, it looks like Abdulla Azimov won the AA ticket to the 2024 Olympics from Asian Championships.

Congratulations.

I believe Uzbekistan now has 3 MAG Olympians qualified β€”Β the other two being Rasuljon Abdulrakhimov though P Bars and Khabibullo Ergashev through Worlds AA.
