Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline gymnasts to Olympics

Here’s the men’s Artistic list. And the women’s Artistic list. Those invited to compete Individual Rhythmic. And, finally, Rhythmic Group.

Athletes must next be approved by their National Olympic organizations.

Staniouta wins Rhythmic Test Event

Melitina continued her domination of the individual competition in Rio. This final did not count towards Olympic qualification. That was decided during preliminaries.

My personal favourite was the youngest competitor, Shang Rong from China.

The final list of Rhythmic Groups invited to the Rio Olympics has been posted.

Based on the Test Event competition 3 teams were added:

1. Germany 33.183
2. Uzbekistan 32.832
3. Greece 31.982

The highest one score in the competition was 16.766 for the Republic of Uzbekistan Hoop / Clubs routine.

I still don’t like the flesh-coloured mesh used in Rhythmic leotards. But they do look better from a distance.

I flew to Rio on United, a very inexpensive fare. During the Olympics flights will be extremely expensive.
