new facility for Altadore Gymnastics

I spent 23 wonderful seasons at Altadore. Helped MOVE the Gym a number of times over those years.

Altadore is moving again to a 33,000 square foot warehouse in south Calgary.

I dropped by to see the new space. Two pits were being dug.

Side-by-side trampolines will access one side of one pit.

Following National Championships in Montreal, an advanced Canadian Gymnastics and Trampoline coaching course was hosted at the new INS facility in the 1976 Olympic Stadium.

Clinicians include Kelly Manjak, Denis Vachon, Keith Russell, Bev Dickinson, Tony Smith, J.F. Mathieu.

The INS reminds me somewhat of the Aspire complex in Doha, Qatar.

Montreal hosts Worlds 2017. Doha hosts 2018. People will be able to compare.

Fencing, Judo, Synchronized Swimming, Swimming, Short Track Speed Skating, Diving and Water Polo are other resident sports at INS.

FIG Trampoline Gymnastics Age Group Programme

The second and third introduction camps for the FIG Trampoline Age Group Development and Competition Programme were held simultaneously on two continents on April 3 – 5, 2017. One was hosted by South Africa for the countries in that region and another in Argentina for the countries of South America. …
