Sadly, Franco Dragone, founder and artistic director of Dragone, a competitor to Cirque du Soleil, died in 2022. His company has yet to reopen any shows following the pandemic.
Patrick Kiens, known as Eythora Thorsdottir‘s former coach who has recently done some work choreographing for Austria and Romania, was recently named as the new head coach for the Romanian national team.
I haven’t seen an official announcement from the federation, but this news item discussing the makeup of the national team for 2023, Kiens is listed as the head coach alongside with Corina Morosan, Gina Gogean Groza, Ramona Micu, and Catalin Meran as the assistant coaches.

MAG Camps are still scheduled in Colorado Springs. The next on Dec 17-21, 2022.
Many of the guys from USOPTC and Syque himself are moving to EVO Gymnastics in Sarasota, Florida. A new privately funded training centre offering U.S. MAG senior team members salaries, with performance-based bonuses.
USOPTC lasted 32 years. How long will EVO continue?

Dunne reportedly can charge an average of $33,000 per post, making her one of the most valuable NCAA athletes in all of college sports.
In fact, Dunne’s $2.4 million NIL valuation ranks sixth among male and female athletes — a number which could rise dramatically once women’s gymnastics begins. …

I happened to be there when news broke that Canadian-born gymnast Marisa Dick would replace Thema. It was at the Olympic Test Meet in Rio.
We were surprised as Thema had looked healthy during Podium Training — in a striking gold leotard. No observable problems.
But her coach at the Games was John Geddert. He told the Federation Thema wasn’t ready enough. Trinidad had to fly the replacement in from Canada. Last minute.

The ONLY good news from this disaster was that Marisa had a good competition. And did qualify Trinidad to the Olympics.
