On Horizontal Bar it’s difficult to do C turns and higher close to handstand.

The vast majority of gymnasts should be deducted.

Composition strategy for 2020:

• 5 release skills (maximum allowed)
• dismount
• full twisting 1-arm giant
• Adler 1/2 to handstand
• Adler 1/1 to handstand (to mixed grip may be safest)

4 Tkachevs? That’s too many. FIG MTC has been successful in decreasing the number of ugly Rybalko skills, but the rules should encourage a variety of different releases.

Also … is coach actually going to try to slow him down if he misses one of those Tkachevs? That’s a tough spot.

judging Gymnastics for love or money?

A WAG Brevet judge earns the highest hourly wage of judges in the United States at $32.30 per hour.

That sounds like a good wage.

But when expenses are calculated it’s not nearly such a good part-time job as it sounds.

Profit before fed/state taxes $ 2,757.33 ($91.91 ave/meet)

Diana Varinska – piked Stalder

At Europeans the best piked Stalder was shown by Diana Varinska. Very deep hip flexion.

You could argue this is this is the ONLY kind of piked Stalder that should upgrade a swing. Many gymnasts barely get their feet past the Bar.
