Raj Bhavsar now U.S. MAG JO Assistant

… Raj Bhavsar has been named the Men’s Junior Olympic Program Assistant, effective this month. Bhavsar will report to Jason Woodnick, Vice President of USA Gymnastics Men’s Program and will work closely with Dusty Ritter, the Men’s Junior Olympic Program Coordinator. …

… responsibilities include assisting with the tracking of USA Junior National Team and top junior athletes around the world. He will also help the Junior Olympic Program Coordinator with the creation of clinics and presentations for Junior National Team development. Additionally, Raj will assist with the coordination and management of the Junior National Team coaching staff as well as contribute to the production of the Junior Olympic program manual.

Nile Wilson moves to Manchester Academy

Nile was 5th in the Rio Olympics. And won the Bronze medal on H Bar.

He won the 2018 Commonwealth Games with 84.950.

You’d think he’d be a lock for the Tokyo team, but a series of injuries have set him back.

Perhaps Manchester will be a fresh start.

2020 NCAA AAI award nominees

Thirty-two female athletes are nominated for this year’s award, which is presented to the most outstanding collegiate senior female gymnast in the country. …

Last year’s finalists included Alicia Boren (University of Florida), Brenna Dowell (University of Oklahoma), Sarah Finnegan (LSU), Olivia Karas (University of Michigan), Katelyn Ohashi (UCLA), and Toni-Ann Williams (UC Berkeley).

Chinese gymnasts denied Melbourne World Cup

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the local organising committee of the Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup Melbourne confirm that the Chinese team will not compete at the event which runs from 20-23 February in Melbourne, Australia.

Donte McKinney DID NOT have a 9.7 E-score

UPDATE – Looking at the tweet below I wrongly thought Donte was awarded a super high 9.7 E-score. 

In fact, he was awarded 9.7 in the experimental 10.0 conversion system used at this competition. His E-score was 9.2

Thank Dave for correcting my error.

… I’m wondering how many others will be confused on this.
