Aspire Training Camp, Vancouver

I dropped in for a day to observe the 6th in a series of Canadian Training Camps led by coaching legend Alex Bard.

Aspire gymnasts aspire to (eventually) make National Team. Canada already has lists for 2020, 2024 and even 2028.

Of course gymnasts this young can move back and forth between J.O. and the elite stream.

Gymmapstics was there posting a detailed report, happy that Cintia Rodriguez (54.05) is back from injury.

Romania did win the Junior friendly. They have some talented girls coming up. Neither team qualified for Rio so they’ll already be putting the priority on Tokyo 2020.

Ethan Ikeda defeats Ken Ikeda

Canada’s Ken Ikeda who recently competed at Test Event is age-34.

He’s a world class Pommel Horse man.

In the Cash and Carry Invitational gymnasts of different age divisions compete against one another for CA$H they carry away home.

Look who bested the Pommel legend. 🙂
