With big names like Russia’s Aliya Mustafina taking time off to start a family and Switzerland’s Giulia Steingruber recovering from a foot injury, the door is open for a new European champion to rise to the occasion.

Plenty of contenders are willing and more than capable of filling the void, like Russia’s Angelina Melnikova and Seda Tutkhalyan, The Netherlands’ Eythora Thorsdottir, Great Britain’s sisters Ellie & Becky Downie and teammate Amy Tinkler, France’s Marine Boyer, Belgium’s Nina Derwael, Italy’s Elisa Meneghini. Romania aims to have a good showing on home soil at the Europeans in Cluj, counting on veterans Catalina Ponor and Larisa Iordache to live up to these expectations. …

Both Shaposhnikova and Schaposchnikova are still to be found in the FIG WAG Code. Has nobody every edited the names in that document?

I often default to the translation used in Wikipedia where folks argue to some consensus.
