It’s not easy to coach the greatest Bars gymnast of all time.
Many feel Kaylia Nemour is destined to be the AA World Champion.

zhoxxyy – 2025 Jakarta MAG All-Around: Qualifiers’ Fate

… International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), … Fujitsu Limited, and Acer Medical Inc., which provides AI-powered medical image processing and preventive medicine, today announced a collaboration …
… smartphone app …
I attended the press conference and LIVE, real-time demonstration of the medical package.
Smart phone video ➙ wirelessly sent to a laptop ➙ analysis ➙ wirelessly sent to a monitor.
The DEMO we watched was analysis of gait. Preventive medicine. They want to analyze elderly patients standing, sitting, and walking—turning that into valuable clinical insights for the doctor.
I was impressed.
It seemed quick enough to be used in the Gym by a coach doing analysis. By the time the gymnast gets to the monitor, the data would be ready for display.
In Japan, Fujitsu has their software working for Golf Swing, Archery, Baseball, and other sports. Gymnastics is more complicated, of course.
Watanabe was asked WHEN we might see the Fujitsu software used in FIG competition regularly. He wouldn’t commit.
Personally, I need it more IN THE GYM for coaching analysis.
The software wouldn’t need to be anywhere near as perfected for that use. I’d want to compare my gymnast performance of Tkachev in training against Kate McDonald, for example. 😀

Gymnasts warm-up in the arena for Event Finals. Some did a lot. Some very little. Each has their own strategy.

Without question, the greatest Men’s VAULT Final in history.
After our Olympic Champ Yulo delivered near perfection on his 1st vault, we thought the legend Davtyan couldn’t catch him due to lower difficulty. BUT it nearly happened. What a rivalry!
That might be the greatest BEAM Final in history. It’s so often been a disaster.
Following the Beam Final, FIG posted Ellie Black’s Fair Play Award from the Paris Olympics. Everyone loves Ellie, in good position to qualify for her 5th Olympics.
Her Beam was fantastic, by the way.
LEGEND. G.O.A.T.
Thrilled Sigihara Aiko at age-26 is World Champion. Gold on Floor, Bronze on Beam.
I was disappointed for Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, finishing 4th. Fantastic tumbling.
Ruby and Abigail are great on Floor, as are their GBR male teammates.
A super strong field of competitors. But there were 2 falls and a number of bent elbow errors.
Brody is World Champion for the second time. Recall he only barely qualified for the Final.
We can argue Brody v Daiki for Gold. But Brody does have 0.2 higher difficulty.
I was happy to see Joe finish Bronze rather than 4th. That was a good set with BIG Triple Pike dismount

Great news.
Texas State will add a women’s gymnastics program, as reported by local reporter Jakob Rodríguez.
The university will fund the team with at least $1.2 million annually beginning in FY2028, meaning the team could start as early as the 2028 season.
Let’s hope this happens. Go Bobcats.

Gymnasts warm-up in the arena for Event Finals. This competition is LONG, of course, with only 1 routine at a time, so many go back to the training Gym to stay warmed-up.

Superb Final. Huge difficulty. Really well done.
Terrible Final.
I expected Deng to medal. Warm-ups were strong. But she ran over the horse and got a zero on her first vault. Judges wouldn’t let her do a second.
Schönmaier tried upgrading to Cheng — but lost 2.0 for using only 1 hand.
16-year-old Lia-Monica Fontaine is the breakout star on Vault. Tons of potential here. And very good in the AA, as well. She’s destined to be on the Canadian team for years to come.
Toughest final, in my opinion. Of the top routines, any could have been World Champion. Scores are that close.
After the awful Vault Final, Bars was one of the best ever. Fantastic performances.
In fact, the routine everyone will remember from Jakarta will be G.O.A.T. Kalyia Nemour hitting this set.

Skye hit her best Bars in some time. Ever?
Zoja Szekely did a good routine, but couldn’t land her dismount. I understand she was too injured from Vault the previous day. I admire her courage. But with 20 / 20 hindsight, she should have withdrawn and let the Reserve gymnast go.

Amazing Final. Superhuman strength.
Dismount landing critical.
This sets up Donnell for the coming quadrennial. USA can always use a top Ring man who can compete other apparatus, if needed. Along with Asher Hong, it would not be a weak event.
Zhang Boheng and Adem Asil are incredibly good at Rings for AA gymnasts.
