Japan’s MAG Paris Olympic Team

With so much DEPTH, it’s super difficult to make the Olympics.

Japan could field 3-4 competitive teams, if allowed.

Daiki Hashimoto, Kazuma Kaya, Shinnosuke Oka, Takaaki Sugino, Wataru Tanigawa.

Simone goes 59.500

The #CoreClassic is not an Olympic trial.

But it’s certainly an important tune-up. And a Nationals qualifier for some.

You have to think Simone and Shi are locks for Paris, barring injury.

Jordan will be happy with this ranking.

Many of the contenders had problems they plan to correct. It’s still very competitive to make the U.S. Olympic team.

Trinity Thomas looked good โ€”ย but decided not to do the AA. Suni never planned to do all 4 apparatus here.

Konnor McClain was looking great in training. But withdrew after a possible Achilles injury in the Floor warm-up.

Like most coaches, I believe Japan names the team too early.

Gymnasts competing well in May will not necessarily be 100% end of July.

Abdulla Azimov to Paris Olympics

Finishing highest of the non-qualified, it looks like Abdulla Azimov won the AA ticket to the 2024 Olympics from Asian Championships.

I believe Uzbekistan now has 3 MAG Olympians qualified โ€”ย the other two being Rasuljon Abdulrakhimov though P Bars and Khabibullo Ergashev through Worlds AA.
