Simone: “I love my black job”

Old former President Trump spoke last week to Black journalists telling them that immigrants are taking “Black jobs.”

He should learn to read a room. That’s not what that group wanted to hear.

Trump’s running mate, Sen.Β JD VanceΒ (R-Ohio), was one of the many uninformed who criticized Simone for withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics for safety reasons related to mental health.

“I love my black job”: Simone Biles takes apparent dig at Trump

I fear that American ReTrumplicans are going to disparage the L.A. Olympics 2028.

Trump helped with that bid β€”Β but it seems on brand for him to hate the Olympics as he hates most everything, aside from the rich.

Women’s Olympic Trampoline Final

Bryony Page now has GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE Olympic medals.

summing up the Olympic AA Final

Simone

With a four-apparatus total of 59.131 points, the 27-year-old joined legends Larisa Latynina (URS) and Vera Caslavska (TCH) Thursday as the only women to capture two Olympic titles in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.

… silver medallist Rebeca Andrade (BRA) and bronze medallist Sunisa Lee (USA) …

… Andrade gave her a run for her money. She lead after two apparatus and finished only 1.199 points behind Biles β€” the smallest margin of any of Biles’s World or Olympic or All-Around victories since 2015.

… I found this competition stressful. Especially after Simone had a major error on Bars.

She stayed relaxed.

It’s easy for the general public to get confused.

summing up the Men’s Olympic AA Final

Oka Shinnosuke (JPN) is the new Olympic All-Around champion in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, winning his second gold in three days and extending the Japanese winning streak in this event to a record four Olympic Games.

Seemingly immune to the pressures of an Olympic final, Oka was as steady as he was spectacular through six routines inside Bercy Arena on Wednesday. While the 20-year-old did not post the highest individual score on any apparatus, he proved the most consistent, which made the difference on what proved a challenging night for the pre-competition favourites. …

The men’s All-Around final was expected to be a showdown between 2021 World All-Around champion Zhang and Olympic and World champion Hashimoto, but mistakes from both early on changed the narrative.
