“The day before we left (for Utah), we trained beam with super obnoxious songs, and we played them super loud so that it could distract us,” Harris said.

“… That was horrible. But that was the whole point – to still do a strong beam routine while so much noise is happening.” …

happy NCAA teams week 5

Spencer’s weekly update:

Last season, it look an NQS in the 197.9s to rank in the top 4 (seeded to make the championship), in the 197.4s to rank in the top 8 (seeded to make nationals), in the 196.9s to rank in the top 16 (seeded to make the regional final), and in the 196.2s to rank in the top 36 (advancing to regionals). …

Right now, we see only the current top 4 with any scores at that 197.9 level, reinforcing the gap they have created between themselves and everyone else and the likelihood that they stay in those positions. …

But Reighard disputed that and filed an age discrimination lawsuit. On Friday, a settlement was announced in two lawsuits brought by Reighard, the one against CMU and the other against ESPN and one of its reporters.

The settlement, which was announced a week before the case was scheduled for trial, includes CMU paying Reighard $350,000. He also settled his defamation lawsuit against ESPN and its reporter, Dan Murphy. …
