Training Rings is ideal for the female gymnast. Good for swing. GREAT for general upper body strength.

Parallel Bars are good too. But keep them low so if a girl falls — and she will — there’s no chance of injury.

9 year old double front

Many male 9 year olds are safe and confident training (dangerous) double fronts.

It’s not nearly so common in WAG.

leg lifts with straight knees

If your gymnasts have any trouble keeping knees straight, do them from an angled box.

Over time, increase the steepness of the angle.

Vault preflight for beginners

Beginners on Vault should get comfortable sprin ging from the legs to a tight arched position with body at about a 45 degree angle.

Challenge = repeat in series with a sponge between the feet.

This will help avoid the common error later → piking during the preflight.
