FIG Intercontinental & International Judges Courses

I’ve seen a memo from Morinari WATANABE, President, dated February 24, 2017.

Dear Presidents,
Dear members of the FIG Authorities,

The FIG President, TC Presidents, the Secretary General and many of you have received numerous complaints from judges who participated at the Intercontinental and International Judges’ courses.

We are alarmed and deeply concerned about the errors, delays and lack of timely information which occurred and sincerely apologise to all member federations and judges who were affected by these issues. These issues are not acceptable and have caused mistrust in our family.

The FIG Executive Committee has therefore unanimously approved the following measures taken immediately by President Watanabe:

After a thorough analysis of:

– what happened,
– the problems encountered and their reasons
– a list of solutions to the problems

and to restore the trust in our organisation while guaranteeing corrections of the judges’ exams, information about exam results and assignment of the Judges’ Categories without any mistakes, the Executive Committee has unanimously decided to employ a procedure to generate and obtain accurate results and assign the correct categories by rechecking all data and results calculation with a complete recheck and verification performed by the Technical Committees as soon as possible. …

Needless to say that such a complete review and the outcome of the meeting mentioned above will lead to a few corrections of results, which could also lead to category changes. …
