The first series ends today, Thursday, 9 July, with ‘Training for a Growing Child: Understanding growth and maturation for optimal training in children’.
Due to COVID-19, almost 40 Academies and Age Group Programmes were cancelled so far. These online presentations are an attempt to partly replace those.
They are freely available to everyone via the FIG Education Channel YouTube channel.

A second series is now planned tentatively for October and November, which will go more deeply into each discipline.
FIG will search for a new host.
The Danish Gymnastics Federation has informed the FIG of its withdrawal from hosting the 50th World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, due to be held in Copenhagen in October 2021. …
Also, the next #FIG Congress, originally scheduled to take place in Antalya, Turkey from 23 to 25 October 2020, is postponed a year.

After many weeks considering whether to defer, the 2018 World silver medalist on Beam decided to compete for the Bruins in the coming season.
That’s assuming NCAA Gymnastics resumes, of course. Not at all certain.
We hope Ana will compete both Elite and College over the coming year, as did Canadian Olympians Brittany Rogers and Shallon Olsen.

UPDATE – British Gymnastics admits ‘error’ for not telling Catherine Lyons’ parents about abuse claims.
The coach was investigated and briefly suspended but was reinstated, and it was not until 2017 and after additional allegations had been made by Catherine and others that the coach was suspended again …
