Olympic Q-Series – 6 sports
None of the World Gymnastics (FIG) disciplines included. Yet.
But an interesting concept. These sports will get MUCH MORE ATTENTION in advance of the Olympics.
The Olympic Q-Series (formerly the Olympic Qualifier Series) is a multi-sport, festival-style event that serves as the final qualification pathway for athletes to secure direct quota places for the Olympic Games.
2028 Olympic Q-Series (Road to LA28)
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently confirmed that the series will expand to four global stops in 2028:
- Tokyo, Japan: May 4–7, 2028
- Shanghai, China: May 11–14, 2028
- Montreal, Canada: June 1–4, 2028
- Orlando, USA: June 8–11, 2028
Sports Featured for LA28:
The expanded program includes six sports:
- 3×3 Basketball
- Beach Volleyball
- BMX Freestyle
- Sport Climbing
- Flag Football (making its debut)
- Skateboarding
