Favourite Gao Lei CHN, who led prelims, was terminated when he landing on the frame pad.

“It’s a surreal feeling to have qualified my spot at the Olympics. And a huge honour to be the first NZ trampoline athlete to do so. I just feel a huge weight off my shoulders now that this part is over and all my hard work has paid off. I can’t wait to get back in the gym and keep training hard to do the best I can in 4 months’ time.” – Dylan Schmidt

Charlotte Drury at the Test Meet

Charlotte Drury, an American trampoline gymnast, has dreamed of the Olympics for as long as she can remember.

After spending 10 years training as an artistic gymnast (alongside childhood best friends and future Olympic gold medalists Kyla Ross and McKayla Maroney), Drury strayed from the conventional path and started paving one of her own. After discovering trampoline gymnastics at the age of 13, Drury made the US National Team within two years and is now, at 19, in position to take her own shot at Olympic glory.

Artistic fans enjoyed having Trampoline in simultaneous competition. We wished the announcers had paid more attention to the Trampoline competition, however. Many were curious as to exactly what was happening on Tramp at any given time. Interested in the rules of the sport.

Many of these competitors will soon fly to the Rio Olympic Test meet. One last chance to qualify.

@GymspiredMedia on twitter provided the best Tramp coverage.
