U.S. Men’s National Team Camp
Unlike the women’s last camp, the men are working well.
Colin Van Wicklen:
Intensity is the word to describe this camp. Guys were training so hard, throwing new skills, and were extremely focused.
This was by far the best National team camp I have ever been too. It was extremely motivating to look around the gym and see everyone working hard, pushing upgrades while still focusing on execution. Even the national team basics were taken extremely seriously.
Besides training we also had time to talk about our goals and how we will reach them for World Championships and the Olympic Games in 2020. …

Kevin Lytwin – H Bar

Kevin had been training at his age group club Burlington B.G.s with coach Renato Araujo. Unfortunately that parent run club recently dropped Men’s competitive Gymnastics. Kevin moved to nearby Oakville Gymnastics.

A gymnastics coach accused of sexually abusing one of his athletes has been permanently banned, ending a case that had raised further questions about USA Gymnastics’ handling of misconduct complaints.
Richard Carlson was added to USA Gymnastics’ list of permanently ineligible members Friday. While no violation is specified, Marcia Frederick said he had abused her sexually in 1979 and 1980, beginning when she was 16. …

Carlson continued to coach young female gymnasts in the Long Island area until at least 2015 and instruct at USA Gymnastics-sanctioned clinics for promising young female athletes until at least 2012, according to USA Gymnastics reports and interviews.
