Recall they didn’t qualify to the Tokyo Olympics with a full team.
In 2022 on Bars they are not all that far behind the USA. #respect

My FAVOURITE new-to-me gymnast at Worlds. She’s terrific on everything.
Her piked Stalder work on Bars is particularly impressive.

Ana Barbosu – Bars
The new Romanian senior looked good in Liverpool.
She hopes ROM will be back in 2023 with a full team. Their Juniors are good.
The looming question for Romania has always been … Bars?
Historically, they didn’t wear grips. That era is over.
Still, they need use Sole Circle, not Free Hip as their main circle swing. Stepping into Sole Circle is an excellent progression, but not the end goal for an Elite gymnast.
BUT I was impressed with Ana’s Bars. And it scored well.

Nina – Bars
The Olympic Champion is back. Her first competition since Tokyo.
And she’ll certainly qualify for the Bars final with this set.
It looks so easy for her.
Shilese JONES leads Worlds
After the first qualifying rotation:

After a terrific first 3 apparatus, Jordan Chiles (53.998) had two surprising falls on Beam. The 11.366 dropped her behind two teammates, so won’t qualify for the AA Final.
USA was impressive, despite one fall on Bars and two on Beam.
