It was established as an international sports destination in 2003 and in the following year an educational centre for the development of sporting champions (Aspire Academy) was opened. The complex contains several sporting venues, mostly constructed in preparation for the 2006 Asian Games.

David Kenwright to British Gymnastics
Feb 14th, 2017 was David Kenwright’s last official day at Calgary Gymnastics Centre. He’s accepted a senior position with British Gymnastics at Lilleshall.
David is one of the most successful coaches in Canadian history. He coached Brittany Rogers, Kate Richardson and dozens of other elite gymnasts.
He’ll be missed.
