Not in Qatar. 🎃
A fantastic performance to win the AA.
Two days earlier after falling on P Bars.
Hey. Everybody falls. Take it on the chin. And move on.
I called Sam for the AA win. He looks super ready.
Heading into the 6th and final apparatus — his best — Sam was only about half a point behind. His usual hit routine could MIGHT make up that difference.
XIAO Ruoteng had missed Liukin in team two nights ago. DALALOYAN was no sure hit either.
But Sam was the one who missed. It happens. Kohei only hits 95%.
I’d love to see him win H Bar in apparatus finals. It’s going to be EPKEIC.

I liked Sam’s chances going into the sixth and final apparatus. But he caught the second Kovacs too close.
*** Tie break
Anything can happen. #prayforSam
Many were surprise when Tin Srbić (@tinsrbic) won H Bar last year.
He’s the favourite over Sam, Kohei, Epke and the rest if he hits this sequence in the apparatus final. Game on.

A first junior world championships for Artistic Gymnastics will be held in 2019 in Győr (HUN).
The championships will be evaluated and if deemed successful, the junior world championships will be added to the FIG calendar, to take place every other year. …
The FIG President also received feedback from the federations about discussion to lower the age limit by one year, Olympic allotment, marketing and promotion of the world championships, and restoring the team size to five gymnasts at the Olympic Games.
We don’t know much about that event. I don’t even have dates.
Poland is hosting Europeans 10–14 April 2019. MAG and WAG.
“Changes to the world championships format are needed to reduce the size and length of the competition, which is taking place over 10 days in Doha,” Watanabe said.
“It is a heavy burden on gymnasts physically and mentally, and in some cases it leads to injuries,” he said. “We have difficulties to find organisers due to huge expenses.”
… the Competition Commission in consultation with the Technical Committees is exploring the idea of using continental championships as a qualifier to compete at the world championships. …
“I understand there may be objections from the developing countries, but we must go the right way,” he said. “The world championships must be the competition for the most experienced athletes and the showcase for the Gymnastics family.”
I’d agree that something should be done. I’m leaving before apparatus finals myself to save on cost.
