This is fantastic for Gymnastics in the host nation. Fantastic for the sport in South America.
And fantastic for GBR. Congratulations Max.
How many years ago would you have been laughed at for predicting GBR and BRA would win all 3 medals on FX at Olympics? π
That said, overall it was a disappointing final. Some of the best guys in the world competed below average routines. Kenzo was as sure a lock for the Gold on this apparatus as we had in Rio.
Magnetic imaging of his knee showed a tear in his front cruciate ligament as well as meniscus damage in the knee, the German Olympic Sports Federation said.
Toba will have to be operated on and will fly back to Germany once he is no longer in pain, gymnastics team official Sven Karg said.
The gymnast ruptured the cruciate ligament during the floor exercise but astonishingly still competed on the pommel horse afterwards …

Fabian HambΓΌchen feels FIG rules are pushing too much difficulty. I agree. Especially on Vault.

Kenzo did make the final (whew) and remains the favourite.
The only man crazy enough to punch front out of double layout.

Thanks Dorina.
Following subdivision 1
1. Japan 269.294
2. Brazil 268.078
3. Netherlands 257.686
results
Brazil scored 8.501 points ahead of their 2015 Worlds total. They’ll easily qualify through to the Team final.
Though they competed only 3 gymnasts on Pommels, P Bars & H Bar, the team had no falls. It’s a best ever international team performance.
In prelims. That score looks low, especially compared with Hypolito.

When Denis hits heβs one of the few guys who can challenge Kenzo. This might be his best routine yet.
