In Doha I took in a photo exhibit called Hey’Ya (Let’s go!): Arab Women in Sport.
Arab women should not be denied the access to sport and fitness. Many in these nations are working towards improving opportunities.
Commissioned by Qatar Museums Authority, this timely exhibition is a visual exploration of Arab women in sport, and features a new series of large-scale photographs by Brigitte Lacombe of more than 50 women athletes, from beginners to Olympians, from 20 different Arab countries …

I try to boycott those entertainment sports where one multimillionaire competes against another.
Why?
In support of those athletes who train just as hard or harder but who don’t have enough money in their pocket to take the bus to Gym.

Claudia Cummins was originally invited but was not approved by the South African Olympic Committee. Her results from World Championships 2015 did not meet their minimum standards for Olympic support.
I spoke to Claudia in Glasgow and she was well aware that this would most probably be the decision. Sad, but true.
