World Friendship Games 2024
The first ever World Friendship Games will be held in Moscow and Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation, on September 15-29, 2024.
All costs related to the participation of the delegation (athletes, coaches) in the competition, including travel, meals, and accommodation, will be covered by the World Friendship Games 2024 Organizing Committee.
With very few Russians competing Olympics, Paris — the murdering dictator of Russia is trying to buy some international respect by paying for athletes to compete in Putinland.
A tempting offer — but to accept I would call unethical.
Elena Davydova can coach
We were surprised to hear that one of Canada’s best coaches, Elena (Yelena) Davydova was under investigation. She has no reputation as being any kind of unethical coach.
Elena is on the FIG WTC, as well.
Happily, she’s been allowed to continue coaching, under supervision.
We await a final ruling on this case.
RUS and BLR Technical Committee Members
New from the 28 February 2024 Executive Committee meeting.
The EC agreed to the proposal to allow RUS and BLR Technical Committee Members to act as Technical Delegates (TD) at the Continental Championships (except Europe to avoid any conflict of interest), when a TD is requested by the Continental Union.
This decision enters into force with immediate effect and is applicable to all Disciplines.

Court of Arbitration for Sport rejects Russia’s Appeal
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected Russia’s appeal against its suspension by the International Olympic Committee …
“The CAS panel in charge of this matter dismissed the appeal and confirmed the contested decision, finding that the IOC Executive Board did not violate the principles of legality, equality, predictability and proportionality.” …
“The decision of the CAS panel is final and binding, except for the right of the parties to appeal to the Swiss Federal Tribunal within 30 days on limited grounds.” …
In December, the IOC granted permission for Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete as neutrals at this year’s Olympic Games as neutrals. At the time of the announcement, the IOC stated that only eight athletes from Russia and three from Belarus had qualified as neutral competitors. In contrast, more than 60 Ukrainian athletes had secured a place at the Paris Games, which take place from 26 July to 11 August.
