Baylor’s 7th-straight NCATA title

NCATA (National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association) is an NCAA emerging sport status en route to become a fully sanctioned NCAA championship sport.

The reigning NCATA National Champion Baylor Bears will hang onto the title for another year.

The undefeated Bears clipped the Gannon Golden Knights 273.685-268.965 Saturday night at Michael Knight Arena on the campus of the University of Oregon to claim their seventh-straight championship.

Baylor also added four individual event titles earlier in the day, while Gannon picked up hardware on three events.

Azusa Pacific led the way on five events, and Converse, Limestone and Quinnipiac each topped the field once. …

Janja Garnbret became the first ever female Olympic gold medalist in sport climbing, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest competitive climbers of all time. She is also the world’s first-ever female climber to onsight an 8c (5.14b) graded sport climbing route.

The Olympic title was decided on combined results of 3 quite different disciplines.
