Love this drill. Half way between a cartwheel and round-off.

Ragan Smith’s new Floor

I like it.

Tumbling is all deductible. But choreography and leaps are strong.

Emma Malabuyo is GREAT

The “star” of the 2017 U.S. Classic. A Junior, Emma trains at Texas Dreams.

Definitely a contender for the senior team starting next year. Form needs to improve. In the end — even with Marta gone — it will be consistency that gets you on the American teams. Texas Dreams counted no falls, I believe, with 6 gymnasts at Classics.

Jade Carey is a thing

That’s for sure. From who’s Jade Carey to … could she final at Worlds?

Tons of power. Potential to improve the E score. Jade Carey is a thing!

So who is Jade Carey?

She trains at Oasis Gymnastics and Sports Center in Peoria, AZ. She’s coached by Brian Carey, Janine Thompson, and Orley Szmuch. Verbal commitment to Oregon State University.

Brooklyn Moors – Floor

Many were surprised when Victoria Moors’ sister Brooklyn was named to the early provisional Canadian team to Worlds.

She is a beautiful gymnast with many unique and interesting skills.

That’s one of her new coaches, Denis Vachon. A Power Tumbling expert.

Strategy wise, however, many agree with Balance Beam Situation – Brittany Rogers would seem to be a more logical choice for that spot.

Don’t be surprised if Brittany ends up competing. If she’s hitting her difficult Bar routine, it’s a real contender for Finals. Brittany was a Vault finalist too in 2012.

In fact, I’d say any of the 6 named gymnasts could end up competing: Ellie Black, Isabela Onyshko, Shallon Olsen, Brooklyn Moors, Brittany Rogers and Rose Woo.

Rose is looking great in the AA. She could qualify to the AA Final if she competes. From Montreal, she’d be a home town hero.
