Miss Val has been the best and most helpful of all NCAA coaches on the USAG scandals. Mark Williams is another.

Needless to say, Miss Val has got some criticism for being so outspoken.

She responds.

Klages was added to USAG’s ‘Permanently Ineligible Members’ list on Tuesday, less than one week after she was charged with two counts of lying to investigators about when she was told of Larry Nassar’s abuse. …

Klages retired as MSU Gymnastics Coach in 2017, after she was suspended for defending Nassar in a meeting.

Ashley Lawson returns to SEMO

Former (Southeast Missouri) Redhawks coach and gymnast Ashley Lawson will be taking over the program for the 2019 season.

Lawson served as SEMO assistant coach and main balance beam coach that helped coach three gymnasts to qualify for the 2010 NCAA Regionals.

She was a Redhawks gymnast from 2001-2004. She holds four school records.

Former Penn State women’s gymnastics coach Jeff Thompson filed a lawsuit accusing the university of disregarding its duty to protect his reputation after the university mandated he not speak with the media. …

According to the lawsuit, increasing pressure from alumni and the media prompted Rachelle Thompson to resign June 30, 2016. Jeff Thompson continued as coach and began filming all practices with an iPad to protect against potential allegations. …

“Coach Thompson was terminated for comments made between him and assistant coaches Josh Nilson and Kera Molinaro, which occurred in his private office or public areas with no one else around” the lawsuit said. …
