Samir Aït Saïd will be back

French gymnast Samir Aït Saïd has thanked his supporters and vowed to come back following the horrific injury he sustained on vault Saturday during the qualification at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’ll come back stronger at the Tokyo Olympics to win Olympic gold,” he said Saturday evening from the hospital in Rio, where he is due to undergo surgery. “I also want to thank my teammates and all the staff and fans for their support.”
